Model M-331Y
Mini RFI Locator Combo
The M-331Y is a compact, easy-to-use RFI locator designed to detect power line sparking that causes radio and television interference. Built for field personnel, it combines a sensitive receiver, an LCD meter with bar graph and dB readout, a speaker, and two antennas: one for vehicle use and one for handheld operation.
Frequency and gain controls allow users to fine-tune signal reception. The included four-element Yagi antenna provides increased gain and accurate direction finding. Technicians begin by driving through the area with the magnetic-mount whip antenna on the vehicle, listening for characteristic RFI noise. Once the general location is identified, the handheld Yagi antenna is used to isolate the source by comparing signal strength. The pole with the strongest noise level indicates the interference origin.
